“What good is the warmth of summer, without the cold of winter to give it sweetness.” John Steinbeck
The Michigan lakeshore, no matter the time of year, is always stunning. If you’ve never seen Lake Michigan during the winter, particularly when it’s frozen, you need to go check it out. There are no words to describe how stunning the scene is: the frozen waves, the sand mixed with snow, and the icy blue water. In order to get such a spectacular landscape of frozen ice shelves, the weather needs to be extremely cold. It really is a beautiful kind of cold.
Note: If you do go out to the lakeshore, please be careful and do not climb on the ice shelf. It is extremely dangerous. Don’t believe me, well, maybe this will convince you.
