I think I could get used to the kind of weather we have been having. While fall is my favorite season, this year, it’s been extra amazing. With no frost, lots of sunshine and balmy temperatures, the trees haven’t dropped their leaves and are still looking vibrant with color. It also means that I’ve only worn a jacket at night and have yet to break out the heavy winter sweaters.

There are situations where a long flowing ball gown is not practical. I prefer to avoid such situations. My philosophy is if I can’t wear a ball gown doing it, than why do it.
But really, when I designed this dress, I needed the ability to be able to work while wearing it. As much as I love the floor-length English netting and silky chiffon, and as whimsical and romantic as it is to see the layers float behind me while I’m running around being a wedding planner, it’s not super practical. I also figured that dancing in it might not be the best idea as it is delicate and may get snagged by someone. So, I did what any reasonable designer does, I had my cake and ate it too. I made the skirt detachable, thus giving me the opportunity to sport some amazing 20’s inspired gold and copper sequins. Bonus: I got to wear my copper and leather belt from my first season.
I know, right!? The ball gown is not actually a gown, but a skirt. Mind. Blown.
